Home Match vs. Washington

Saturday was our first home match of the season vs. Washington. All of the girls fought hard and played well. Our score was 2-5 but the score does not reflect how close the match was.

In doubles our #2 team of Ezhova and Carney won their match 8-5, and at #3 Paul and Young fought hard and lost a close match 6-8. Going into singles Craig had a close match but fell 5-7, 7-5, 7-10 (10 point tiebreaker for the third), Tran lost another close match 5-7, 6-7 (5-7 in the tiebreak). The cougars who came out on top were Ezhova winning her match in straight sets 6-3 6-3 as well as Paul 7-6 6-3.

This was a great start to our season and showed the girls how close we are to reaching our goals. We have been working very hard but we are going to work even harder. We hope to see you all at our next home match February 4 at 11:00 am vs. Washington State!

Southern Hospitality

Our 2011 Season is officially underway! Last week we ventured down south to Memphis Tennessee to play in a hidden duel. The teams that participated were BYU, Memphis, Missouri, and Ole Miss. We had a great time meeting all of the friendly southern folk and played some good tennis. When we were away from the courts we ventured to the local hotspots and took a detour down to Graceland. We were surprised at how COLD it was there!! It felt much colder than Provo!
