Last week our team headed out of the snow and into paradise. When we left Salt Lake City it was snowing and around 20 degrees... when we landed in Honolulu is was a beautiful 80 degrees. Needless to say we were in heaven! We stayed in Waikiki and enjoyed all that the island has to offer and played some great tennis.
Our first match was against USF, a team in the WCC that we will be playing next year. We played great and took the match 7-0. The other team we played while there was the home team UH. They were a tough team and really tested our girls. The match started with us going down 0-1 by losing the doubles point. We re-grouped and went out in singles ready to fight. It was a tight match with Elle, Liza, and Callie going 3 sets. In the end the Cougars had more "haka" and pulled out the win. We are on the right path and excited to see where our "haka" takes us!
"haka" is the hawaiian word for heart which is our team motto this year!

(Desiree's smelled like a leaking gas pipe. She was told she could not eat it or throw it away within 100 miles of the store bc of the smell. It is a fruit named Durian, her favorite)
